2009/10 was a great year, with the highlight being when Reeds hosted the local Development Festival in March and our Under 6 teams were able to formally compete for the first time in their rugby career.
Reeds 1 played three games in their pool – London Irish, London Welsh and Teddington 1. They won 4-4 against London Welsh and won their other two games to finish second in their pool behind London Welsh.
Reeds 2 played Farnham, Rosslyn Park and Teddington 2. They beat Farnham and Teddington with bonus points and drew against Rosslyn Park to finish top of their pool!
Reeds 1 played against Reeds 2 in the semi-final with Reeds 1 winning 4-3. In a close fought final they lost 6-4 to a very strong London Welsh.
We are very proud of all our players. Contrary to some of our competition, we mixed our teams to give an even spread of capabilities and this proved to be a successful formula, giving everyone a chance of some excellent rugby, which they delivered with style!
Registration opens at 9:15 am each Sunday and kick-off is at 9:30 am sharp, until 11:30 am. U7 sessions last for 2 hours.
The Under 7’s year sees a huge step up in the players as they become actively involved in regular competitive tournaments against other clubs and teams. In order to ensure that similarly skilled players compete against other teams of similar capabilities, we participate in regular A, B and C tournaments in Surrey. The transition of the Under 7's from a predominantly practice-based environment at Reeds on Sunday mornings in the Under 6's, to participation in competitive tournaments at other venues, is a fantastic growth and development opportunity for the children. The emphasis at Reeds is on participation, fair play and respect, and these values are important to us and influence our preparation for festivals and training. The fixture schedule is available on the “Teams” tab, under “Mini Rugby”.
We play in all conditions unless extreme weather is forecast or the pitch is considered unsuitable (check the web site for updates). Keeping your child warm and dry is paramount and rugby boots are advised. Please make sure that boots have no leading stud or blade.
The coaches provide water for the team regularly throughout each session.
We believe that teaching our players the core rugby values of respect, discipline and sportsmanship is vital to a successful future club. Our coaches set the tone on the field of play but rely on parents to be aware of what their child is doing during a session and support us in teaching the right behaviours on and off the field, before and after sessions.
Please note that it is Club policy that no child should be left at the Club without a responsible adult in attendance.

Welcome to the 2010/11 season of Reeds Under 7’s! We’re looking forward to another great year of seeing our players develop their skills, confidence and team spirit. We play on Sunday between 09:30 and 11:30 – please see the Fixture List for details.
Our coaching team is made up of volunteer parents who often participate in the club development courses run by or in conjunction with the RFU; typically Rugby Ready, RFU Level 1 and Tag Rugby. Each coach is CRB checked in accordance with strict club policy. We meet regularly to review the team’s training strategy and the players’ progress against our objectives.
Our Head Coach is Tom Sheridan who started coaching at Reeds in 2007, supported by Gareth Edwards and a great team of experienced and enthusiastic coaches.
We actively encourage parents to get involved with the club and the training sessions by providing support and encouragement to both the players and coaches. We are proud of the fact that so many parents choose to stay with us and contribute from the Under 5's to Under 15's. This involved attitude from the parents gives our club a community feel which is not always present at other clubs, where coaching begins in an older age bracket.
If you wish to help formally coach on a regular basis then please see our Head Coaches, Tom Sheridan, or Gareth Edwards, who can arrange for your CRB check to be done before you start. We’d be glad to have you on board.
None planned. Coaches will be meeting throughout the season to review progress and plan ahead.

We’re all looking forward to the new rugby season, kicking off at 09:30 sharp on Sunday 5th September. Over the first few weeks we will be bringing the players back up to speed after the summer break and identifying the teams to begin the year with.
